Reserva de Biosfera do Arquipélago Bolama Bijagós

The Bolama Bijagós Archipelago Biosphere Reserve contains a unique biodiversity in the world. Composed of 88 islands, the archipelago houses a great diversity of mammals, birds, reptiles and fish.

This area is recognized as the most important site for the reproduction of the green turtle. In 1995 it was classified by UNESCO as a BIOSPHERE reserve.
