Bolama/ Bissagos

Bolama / Bijagós is the region of the Islands that make up the Bijagós Archipelago, the capital of the region is the city of Bolama which is on the island with the same name. Bolama was the capital of our Guinea-Bissau until the early 1940s and this gives it a historical importance that deserves to be discovered.

To realize that it is worth seeing this city, we raise the veil saying that in the nineteenth century Bolama was disputed between two secular allies, Portugal and United Kingdom. Do not forget to visit the south of the Island to be dazzled by the beautiful white sandy beaches or observe rare species of birds, after all, the Bolama / Bijagós region is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
