TCHON DI BALANTA - Welket Bungué

‘Tchon di Balanta’, premieres in Bissau, in a unique presentation. The afro-performance show is created by Welket Bungué, was premiered in 2017 in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and has since been presented in Lisbon, Praia, Berlin, and will debut in a special format, for the Bissau-Guinean audience.

Location: Gorilla Space, AV. Pansau Na Isna , crossing coconut trees, Gorila building, in front of the 22 de Novembro school.

Program:

18:00: Start/opening of doors
19:00: Presentation of the show 'Tchon di Balanta' by Welket Bungué.
19:45: Conversation with Welket Bungué, the performer Alesa Herero, Spencer Embaló and Dr. Zaida Pereira, on: “Challenges in the creation, circulation, and consumption of culture in contemporary Guinea-Bissau.” Microphone opening to the public, and comments on the show 'Tchon di Balanta'.
20:50: Screening of the films "Mudança" (Intl. Festival of Berlin 2021), and preview of the film 'Memória', the new film directed by Welket Bungué in honor of Amílcar Cabral and Titina Silá, followed by comments by Miguel de Barros.
21:40: Interval
22:20: Acoustic concert and poetry recital with Haileman Ras, Safira Barbosa, and Mû Mbana.
